Local officer wins big at World Police and Fire games

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A six-year veteran of the Tucson Police Department represented the department, TPOA and the TPD Running Club at the World Police and Fire Games in Belfast, Ireland.

Officer Vince Valenzuela, 32, from OperationsDivision South earned a bronze medal in the 5k on August 3 with a time of 16:11, then competed in a 1500 meter race just a half hour later and placed fifth with a time of 4:32.

Today he competed in the Cross Country 5k run and took the silver medal, according to the Tucson Police Department.
