New AZ enforcement team makes drug seizure, arrest

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Southeastern Arizona Border Region Enforcement team arrested a California woman following a large drug seizure on Highway 80 near St. David on August 7.

Cynthia Leroux, 49, was at a traffic stop on Sibyl Road around 6:40 a.m. when authorities discovered approximately 462 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.

She was booked into the Cochise County Jail on one count of transportation of marijuana and two counts of possession of marijuana. The vehicle was impounded.

The investigation is ongoing.
