Iraqi man's request to throw out evidence denied

PHOENIX (AP) - A judge has denied an Iraqi man's request to throw out evidence collected during police searches of his home and car after a homemade explosive device was detonated outside a Social Security Administration office in Casa Grande.

Abdullatif Ali Aldosary's attorneys argued the search warrant used by investigators wasn't supported by probable cause to believe he damaged federal property with an explosive.

But U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled that investigators had probable cause to justify the search.

Aldosary was charged in federal court with detonating an explosive device in the Nov. 30 bombing, but those charges were dropped after he was indicted on state felony charges related to the bombing.

Still, Aldosary faces a Sept. 3 trial on federal firearms charges stemming from searches investigators made in the case.
