Burglary interrupted at southside home

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a unknown problem early this morning in the 5800 block of east Klafter Road.

When deputies arrived they learned that a 31-year old male and 29-year old female were returning home when they noticed a strange vehicle in their front yard.

Thinking their residence was being burglarized, the male told the female to remain in the vehicle while he went inside to check.

While waiting, the female heard gunshot sounds from inside the residence. The male was shot but able to crawl out of the residence and get into the vehicle.

The female drove to a safe located and called 911.

The male was later transported to a local hospital via ambulance with a non-life threatening gun shot wound.

PCSD is investigating the incident. There is no suspect information at this time. Anyone with any information is advised to call 88-crime.
