TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pinal County Sheriff's office responded to a 911 call that involved a single vehicle rollover crash last night.

The incident happened at North Mountain Vista Blvd and West Morgan Lane, in San Tan Valley.

According to Pinal County, deputies arrived on scene and observed a modified lifted golf cart rolled over onto its side. Lying near the golf cart was a 16-year old female. She has been identified as Julieann Arancel.

Arancel had been a passenger standing near the driver in the golf cart prior to it rolling over. The golf cart rolled after the driver attempted to make a right turn. Arancel feel out of the vehicle after it rolled and struck her head on the asphalt. The golf cart then landed on top of her.

Arancel was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:17 a.m.

Pinal County Sheriff's Office Vehicular Crimes Unit responded to conduct an investigation.

The golf cart was taken without permission by one of the females involved. There was a total of nine individuals in the golf cart at the time of the crash.

Following the crash many of the juveniles fled the scene and had to be located. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash.

The case has been submitted for a review of possible charges against the driver.
