Senator McCain to host town hall in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Senator John McCain is in Tucson today to host a town hall forum at the University of Arizona Medical Center.

McCain will be at the Herbert Arbrams Public Health Center on the UAMC South Campus.  Everyone is welcome to talk with Arizona's senior Senator, who will begin the town hall with some brief remarks before taking questions.

Topics are expected to include the massive immigration reform overhaul, and the affordable care act, as well as McCain's recent trip to Egypt.

This town hall is in addition to the roundtable discussion McCain participated in in Phoenix on Monday.

He touched on several of the topics expected to be talked about today, but he was also upset with federal officials for not declaring Yarnell a disaster area.

FEMA decided not to declare Yarnell a disaster area, meaning no federal money would come in to help homeowners rebuild.

FEMA officials have pointed out, via email, that, "the agency issued a Fire Management Assistance Grant that allows for ups to 75% of the cost of fighting that fire to be paid for by FEMA."

Tucson News Now's Bud Foster will attend the forum and will report on KOLD News 13 tonight. He can be followed on Twitter at @BudFoster.
