TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two men, including a Sells school district teacher, were arrested after Tucson Police say they tried to lure a minor for sex.

Sgt. Maria Hawke with TPD said family members of a 13-year-old boy notified police when they discovered he had solicited "adult companionship" online since mid-July and held numerous conversations with adult males.

Detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit detectives took over the case on July 21 and took on the false alias of the 13-year-old boy while communicating with the males.

One of the men, 64-year-old Thomas Hand, reportedly described explicit sexual acts in which he wished to engage with the 13-year old "boy" and a meeting date was established.

At the meeting place on July 24, ICAC Unit detectives and United States Marshal's Service personnel booked Hand into the Pima County Jail.

Police also communicated with another male, 26-year-old Jaime Miguel Campos Jr., who allegedly sent explicit photographs throughout their communications. He also reportedly asked to meet to perform sexual acts, and he was arrested on July 25.

Campos was booked into the Pima County Jail.

He and Hand were both arrested on one count of luring of a minor for sexual exploitation and one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor, both felony offenses.

According to police, Campos was employed as a kindergarten teacher in Sells, Ariz. The district superintendent was notified.

The Diocese of Tucson tells Tucson News Now that Campos was a volunteer religious education teacher with Our Lady of Fatima in Tucson.

"I just can't believe it. He's such a good guy," said one neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous.

The Diocese says Campos went through all background checks before participating in the program and that his clearances have now been revoked.

Officials with Our Lady of Fatima say Campos taught for approximately seven years and as recently as last spring, but was not teaching this current school year.

Upon further investigation, ICAC Unit detectives discovered Campos was a suspect in an unrelated investigation involving a young female.
