Elementary students, staff member cleared after wasp sting

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Paramedics responded to a Marana Unified School District school after two students and a staff member reportedly suffered wasp stings on the playground just after 7:30 a.m.

According to a news release, a local pest control company is expected to arrive at Butterfield Elementary School at 3400 W. Massingale Road this afternoon.

Mountain Vista Fire District members treated the area with foam. Paramedics also responded to the scene as a precaution and cleared the stung students and staff member with no health-related concerns.

The school's lower playground was expected to remain closed for the rest of the day.
