Tucson's Delaney Schnell will feel right at home when she competes for Team USA at the Junior Pan American Championships next month. That's because the championships are being held at the University of Arizona's Hillenbrand Aquatic Center, where Schnell trains with the Tucson Diving Team.

Held every other year, the Championships are set for September 26-29 and will be in the United States for the first time since 2005. In all, 24 divers will represent Team USA. An estimated 150 divers from 10 countries are expected to participate.

Schnell, 14, also competed at the 2011 Junior Pan American Championships, winning a silver medal on platform in Medellin, Colombia. She also represented the U.S. at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships in Australia last year.

The U.S. roster for the Junior Pan Am meet was chosen based off performances at the USA Diving Junior National Championships, held August 4-10 in Minneapolis, Minn. Schnell won the gold medal on platform in the 14-15 girls age group at junior nationals.
