Sun Van shooting suspects in custody, one arrest made

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Four suspects have been detained following a south side incident involving shots fired at a Sun Van.

According to Jesus Banuelos with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, gun shots were fired at a Sun Van near the parking lot on Ajo, between Palo Verde and Country Club.

Only the driver was on the bus at the time of the incident but no injuries were reported.

A witness was able to give a description of one of the suspects and a truck at the shooting, according to PCSD.  Deputies with PCSD were able to locate the truck in the 3000 block of S. Tower Way.  Four suspects were detained, but only one arrested.

27-year-old Lawrence Ortiz, was arrested and charged with the following - aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; prohibited possessor in possession of a deadly weapon;  discharging a firearm at a non-residential structure.  He is currently booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.

An investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information about this incident are asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
