A Sun City man accused of shooting and killing his wife pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder on Thursday morning.
Deputies said Howard Rudolph, 78, had been drinking heavily when he shot his 73-year-old wife, Earlene Rudolph.
He left a couple notes. One said he had to do it, that she was sick and that he hated her.
Another, for their attorney, referred to what to do about the "bodies." He also left the keys in the door, possible signs he'd been contemplating a murder-suicide.
He's expected to be in court again on Oct. 9.
