TFA comedy show to raise funds for family of fallen Yarnell firefighter

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A local comedy show this weekend, hosted by the Tucson Firefighters Association, will help to raise funds for one of the fallen Yarnell firefighters.

The show will feature Joey Medina and local Tucson comedians, and funds raised by the show will benefit the Warneke Home Build Project.   Local talent scheduled to perform include Glendon McGee, Henry Molina, Jeff Williams, Adria Elliott, with the show hosted by Dan Wilkins.  A special appearance will be made by one Tucson's youngest comedians Julia Ruby. 

WHEN:  Saturday August 24; there will be two shows a family friendly one at 6 p.m.; and an ‘adults only' show at 9 p.m.

WHERE:   Viscount Suites (4855 E. Broadway Blvd, Tucson 85711)

TICKETS:  Pre-sale $10 for the 6 p.m. show, $15 for the 9 p.m. show - these tickets are available at the Viscount Suites front desk or at the TFFA Union Hall (2264 E. Benson Highway from noon to 7 p.m.)  Day of show tickets are $15 for the 6 p.m. show and $20 for the 9 p.m. show.

The Warneke Home Project was created to raise the funds needed to re-build the Warneke home. The project is approx 50 percent funded, and events like this are being held to help raise the balance.  Donations are tax deductible and can be made directly to the Tucson Fire Fighters Benevolent Association at 2264 E.     Dozens came from as far as Flagstaff to Nogales in honor of the thousands of children waiting to be reunited with their parents. They may have been a small group, but they had a big message. "We want to make sure that those kids still get back to their families," said Christie Black, who traveled from Mesa for the vigil. Black and Julie Jorgenson never met in person until Saturday.
