TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Businesses will remain open as work continues on Ina Road and Oracle Road due to the Intersection Improvement Project, according to the Regional Transportation Authority.

Due to the accelerated construction schedule motorists may experience shifting, alternating and daily traffic restrictions during this project.

Below is a list of current road activities taking place at Ina and Oracle:

  • Weekend paving- New traffic control changes crews will be paving Ina Road west and east of Oracle Road. This paving will take place on Sunday, August 25 from 4 a.m. to 12 noon. Both east and west bound travel lanes will be impacted. Additional paving work has been scheduled for Friday, Aug. 30 from 4 a.m. to 12 noon. Friday's scheduled paving will impact daytime commuters. Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to use alternate travel routes.
  • Night work- Night work hours will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Thursday night. There will be several lane restrictions implemented during night work and Sheriff's deputies will be at the project site each night to direct motorists through the area.
  • Indirect left turn implementation- The new traffic control change is scheduled to be implemented by the middle of September.
