Auburn prepares for Washington State

AUBURN – With game week at hand, the Auburn Tigers held a 90-minute practice Sunday afternoon at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice fields. Afterward, both Auburn coordinators met with the media.

"We feel good about where we are with everything," offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee said. "I think everyone's excited that it's game week. Everyone's ready to play someone else. But with as many young and new guys that we are playing, from a coach's standpoint, I am glad to have every second till kickoff to make sure they're ready."

"There's good competition going on out there," defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson said about battles for starting positions. "Right now things are still up for grabs. Coach is going to release a depth chart Tuesday, and it wouldn't even shock me if it moved after that. There's good competition going on."

The Tigers will take Monday off before resuming practice Tuesday afternoon. Auburn's season opener is this Saturday, August 31, at Jordan-Hare Stadium versus Washington State in a 6 p.m. Central kickoff.

South Carolina (8-3, 5-3 SEC) shrugged off a shaky offensive start and took care of the Wofford Terriers (9-2, 7-1 SoCon) at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Terriers quickly answered back with a sustained drive of their own, grinding over seven minutes off the clock after a facemask penalty pushed Wofford past midfield.
