TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Oro Valley teens will have a chance to be trained on a new pilot program for driver safety.

OVPD staff will lead the Impact Teen Drivers program, according to a news release. The course will provide training on the dangers and consequences of distracted and reckless driving.

The program will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on August 29 at 1920 E. Tangerine Road.

Police say reckless and distracted driving is the number one killer of American teens.
