TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pima County Sheriff's Office arrested a 58-year-old suspect in a child molestation case involving a 7-year-old girl.

The PCSO began the investigation on July 3 after the victim disclosed she was molested by Isidro Pacheco, a family friend, one year earlier in San Tan Valley.

Detectives located Pacheco on August 22 for questioning.

"When detectives contacted Pacheco he made admissions which confirmed he molested this young 7-year-old female victim," Sheriff Paul Babeu said in a news release. "Pacheco used his relationship with the victim's family and betrayed that trust and molested this young girl."

Babeu said the majority of sexually abused children are abused by someone they know and whom most parents would never suspect.

Pacheco is being held on $500,000 in the Pima County Sheriff's Office Adult Detention Center on two counts of child molestation.
