German traveler arrested at TIA, charged with soliciting sex from minor

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Federal authorities confirm the arrest of a man from Rensburg, Germany who reportedly traveled to Tucson with hopes of having sex with underage girls.

51-year-old Karsten Puschmann faces a series of sexual misconduct charges stemming from his June 21st arrest at Tucson International Airport.

Court documents indicate Puschmann traveled to Tucson that day from Dallas, Texas after departing from Germany June 20th.

The suspect reportedly arranged to have sex with girls between the ages of six and eight in exchange for money.

Rather than communicating with an online broker he thought he was talking to, Puschmann was actually talking to undercover agents.

When he stepped off American Airlines Flight 1463 in Tucson on June 26th, he was greeted by federal authorities with Homeland Security Investigations.

The case remains under investigation.

“While this appears to be a crime of opportunity, it’s still poaching and theft of wildlife from the citizens of Arizona,” said Regional Supervisor Raul Vega of Game and Fish in Tucson, in a recent news release.  “It’s especially cruel, given that the javelina was pregnant.”
