TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two people were sent to the hospital after a crash on Thornydale Rd. and Cortaro Farms Rd late Wednesday night.

According to Northwest Fire Captain Adam Goldberg, one man and one woman were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, they were the only two people in either vehicle.

The woman, in her 20s had to be extracted from her vehicle.  According to NWFD the intersection remained closed while officials investigated the cause of the crash.

It is not known whether the two were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, NWFD officials said.
