TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

It's time to Bear Down, Arizona.

Wildcat football is just one day away from kicking off and the Beardown Pep Rally is set for this evening.

Rally organizers are combining it with the ‘Welcome Wildcat' week.

Guest speaker for the evening's festivities will be UA Athletics director Greg Byrne.  All these festivities lead up to the first football game of the season – when the Wildcats will take on the NAU Lumberjacks tomorrow at 7 p.m.

The Friday game is the reason the pep rally was moved to this evening, making it Beardown Thursday.  The community is invited to get pumped up with Wilbur and Wilma starting tonight at 5 p.m.  Businesses around the University campus will be participating with their own specials and giveaways.

U of A Wildcat marching band will also be playing, showing off their new uniforms as well.

Everyone is invited to attend the rally, organizers guarantee there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

The pep rally begins tonight at 5 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m.  As an added bonus after the rally will be a special concert at Geronimo Plaza.
