Police: Midtown man barricaded in home after domestic dispute

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An armed man is barricaded inside his midtown home.

Tucson Police are on scene in the neighborhood just northeast of Speedway and Swan.

Police say it started out as a domestic dispute around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

A man reportedly fired two shots, including one at his girlfriend, who was able to get out of the house.

As of right now, the man is still inside.

SWAT is trying to get him to come out of the home.

A negotiator pleaded with the man, named "Craig" on a loudspeaker for several hours. She told him his family loved him and they wanted the standoff to end peacefully. The negotiator also played a recording from Craig's father who begged him to surrender.

Neighbors tell Tucson News Now police sent a robot inside the home.
