TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pima Area Labor Federation, a subsidiary of the Arizona AFL-CIO, will hold its annual Labor Day Picnic today at Reid Park.

PALF is an umbrella organization that has many types of union members that range from electrical workers to teachers.

The theme of this year's picnic is "Work Unites Us All" which is part of a national campaign to refocus America's national priorities on meeting the needs of working men and women. The message is that all workers, union or non-union are in this together.

Hot dogs, chips, and eegee's drinks will be provided along with plenty of activities for the kids which include tug of war, a hot dog eating contest, and a three-legged race.

Last year, about 1,500 people attended the event.

The picnic is free and will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reid Park band shell, located near South Country Club Road and East 22nd Street.

Union members, their families, and the public are invited to attend.
