TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police have ruled Tuesday's incident that left two people dead in the 4500 block of East 28th Street a murder-suicide.

Police responded to the neighborhood just north of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and found two men dead from gunshot wounds.

Authorities say the men were roommates that began to fight. Police say the suspect, 32-year-old Michael Kistner stabbed 32-year-old Jadrian Rusche with a kitchen knife.

According to police, Kistner then grabbed a gun and fired multiple times at Rusche. Rusche ran outside and Kistner chased him. Kistner continued to shoot at Rusche and then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

Authorities confirmed that Rusche was a cancer researcher at The University of Arizona.

Kistner's and Rusche's families have been notified.
