Sex offenders arrested after attempts to reenter U.S.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents detained ten convicted sex offenders throughout August for illegal reentry into the United States.

Most of the sex offenders were convicted for sexual assaults against children, including rape, sodomy and aggravated sexual battery, Border Patrol officials said.

One offender is gang-affiliated to the Brown Pride Locotes, according to a news release.

The subjects are from Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala, and were previously removed from the U.S. for their crimes. Some had arrest warrants for probation violations.

They were processed for prosecution and removal proceedings.
