Woman dies after crash, baby taken to hospital

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police are investigating a deadly crash in a neighborhood near Skyline Hospital.

The wreck happened at about 7 a.m. on Chesapeake Drive.

Officers tell Channel 4 News that the woman driving the vehicle has died.  A 3-month-old infant riding in the car was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center.  Police say he was not seriously hurt.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.  The vehicle came to rest near a backyard fence.

    Dozens came from as far as Flagstaff to Nogales in honor of the thousands of children waiting to be reunited with their parents. They may have been a small group, but they had a big message. "We want to make sure that those kids still get back to their families," said Christie Black, who traveled from Mesa for the vigil. Black and Julie Jorgenson never met in person until Saturday.
