New app helps drivers pay for metered parking

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A group of former University of Arizona students have found a new way to make keeping track of the parking meter a little easier.

It is called ‘Park Genius' and it's an app that allows drivers to pay for parking meters remotely.

According to UA News, the inventors started a pilot program with the city last month.

Right now the app is available to use on more than 200 meters located around campus.  The meters are marked with the orange and white Park Genius label.  Drivers can pay for parking using a credit or debit card.

The app is available for free in both the Apple and Google Play stores.
