Police make arrest in armed robbery

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police have made an arrest in an armed robbery last week on Tucson's east side.

Police say they received several tips that led officers to Vincent Mark Cesare, 52.

Cesare is accused of allegedly robbing the US Bank near Broadway and Pantano on Sept. 6. Police say the crime was caught on surveillance footage, which shows a man aiming a gun at bank employees and having them lay on the ground before he made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Cesare has been charged with kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

    A vehicle was recently burglarized at the Douglas Springs Trailhead in Saguaro National Park's Rincon Mountain District (East). According to a NPS news release a credit card that was stolen from the vehicle was used at several locations across Tucson.

    According to a spokeswoman with the Tucson Unified School District, the crime happened overnight between 9:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. at Myers-Ganoung Elementary School.
