Several ambulances responded to the scene of a crash involving a Marana Unified School District bus and a Toyota Prius.
Approximately 55 students were reportedly on the bus at the time of the incident on the frontage road and the bus lane of Estes Elementary School. Sixteen people were looked at medically as a precaution, Marana police say.
Officials confirmed that grade-school children were on the bus and none were sent to the hospital. It is unknown if there were any middle schoolers or high schoolers on board.
The driver of the Prius was sent to the hospital with minor injuries, but is in stable condition. He has been cited for failure to yield.
The road has reopened.
