    Folks living on the west side of Tucson need your help tracking down a thief. They said a man has been canvassing neighborhoods near Grant and Silverbell in the Ironwood Ridge neighborhood and the Barrio Hollywood area.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A pedestrian was killed following a traffic accident this evening and police continue to search for the driver involved, according to Tucson Police Department officials.

Southbound traffic near the 2800 block of S. Mission Road was shut down after the incident around 7 p.m. Friday, police said.

TPD Sergeant Chris Widmer said a man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. 

The driver, who police say sped away after hitting the man, was in a light colored Chevy Trailblazer that may have severe front end damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
