SOUTH TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

One person is dead following an early morning rollover on the Interstate 10 westbound and Kino Parkway.

The Arizona Department of Transportation and Arizona Department of Public Safety have announced a closure of the Interstate 10 westbound at Alvernon Way, a few miles before the accident scene.

Officer Raul Molina from DPS has confirmed that three males were traveling westbound in a Toyota pickup truck just after 8 a.m. Sunday when the truck had a tire blowout. The truck then began fishtailing before it was rear ended by a silver sedan. One person was ejected from the pickup when it rolled over to the right off the roadway. One male was pronounced dead at the scene inside the truck.

Molina says the driver of the silver sedan was transported to DPS offices where he is undergoing a DUI investigation. He is believed to be late 20s to early 30s.

There is no indication of when the freeway will reopen at his time, according to a news release.

ADOT suggests for the most current information about highway closures and restrictions statewide, visit ADOT's Travel Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow them on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 5-1-1.
