Study to determine safety of Perrysburg Twp intersection

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A new road study could help make a dangerous intersection in Perrysburg Township safer.

Drivers speed through the stop sign at Roachton and Hull Prairie roads. Residents nearby have been asking for additional stop signs for years, and now it looks like township officials have taken note.

According to officials, there have been eight accidents at the intersection since 2010, including one just last week.

"It is a concern, especially with how fast people are traveling down that road," said Megan Palmer, a township resident.

Now the Wood County Engineer will conduct a traffic study at the intersection to determine if it's necessary to create a 4-way stop.

"Just to kind of help regulate traffic and to slow it down, it would be nice to have one right there," Palmer said. "It would help break it up and make everything stop and pause, because there are so many accidents happening."

The study will take at least a month to complete. Residents say making the intersection a 4-way stop will give them peace of mind as they drive.
