TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A Tucson man who police say downloaded and shared child pornography files faces 18 years in federal prison.

Billy Dewayne Mills, 34, pleaded guilty to knowing access of child pornography on March 7 and was sentenced on September 17.

His prison sentence will be followed by a term of lifetime supervised release with stringent sex offender conditions, including registration as a sex offender, authorities said.

Tucson Department of Homeland Security Agents discovered Mills used a file-sharing program to download and distribute child pornography.

He was convicted in Missouri for possession of child pornography in 2008, and of first degree child molestation in 2000, according to a news release.
