One eastbound lane of Interstate 40 was reopened about 30 miles east of Holbrook on Wednesday morning after a crash involving two semis, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The crash occurred at mile post 323, about 10 miles east of Petrified Forest and about 30 miles east of Holbrook, according to an Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman.
The spokesman said traffic was backed up about eight miles from the crash and that drivers should expect lengthy delays.
There was no indication when all lanes of the freeway would reopen, the spokesman said.
