TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, begins tomorrow.

For those who are still confused about how to sign up or if they should sign up, there is still some time to figure these things out.

There are a few important things people should know, the biggest is they do not have to sign up tomorrow. Oct. 1 is not a deadline.

One group has made it their goal to educate the public on the topic of the Affordable Care Act – Enroll America was going door to door last week, finding uninsured people who needed the information.

Enroll America is stressing that Oct. 1 is just when federally run marketplaces (for insurance) are open for enrollment.  What that means for the uninsured is they are able to sign up for a plan and also be considered for tax benefits and subsidies, so they may end up paying a discounted premium.

This open marketplace ends on March 31, Enroll America is recommending that people remember this due to the fact that most uninsured people in Pima County qualify for help.

After the March 31 deadline people will have to sign up through private market places.
