TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Salpointe Catholic is clearly the best Division II team in the state of Arizona.

The Lancers handled previous #2 ranked Tempe Marcos de Niza 40-7 last week holding the high-powered Padres offense to just 124 yards.

Salpointe Catholic in fact has allowed just four touchdowns in five games this season.

The Lancers are stout from back to front on the defensive side the ball led by Ironwood Ridge transfer Brandt Davidson up front, linebackers Jay Williams and Taylor Powell in the middle and specialists Kaelin Deboskie, Cameron Denson, Kevin Hamlett and Jake Casteel on the back end.

Salpointe puts their 5-0 record on the line this Friday night at Mountain View (3-2).
