Vamos a Tucson Mexican Baseball Fiesta is back in town today

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucsonans love their baseball and the party is getting started today, with the third annual Vamos a Tucson Mexican baseball fiesta kicking it all off.

The big difference this year is that the tournament will stretch through four days instead of three.

Fiesta officials welcome once again the best teams in the Mexican Pacific Baseball League, including the Caribbean World Series Champs Hermosillo, the Mexican Pacific League Champs Obregon and Cuilcan; as well as the LA Dodgers, and Kansas City Royals, who will have some of their instructional players in the fiesta.

There will be live music for fans to enjoy and delicious Mexican food.  Vamos a Tucson, the Mexican Baseball Fiesta kicks off with Obregon versus Kansas City Royals Future Stars.

All that will happen tonight at 7 p.m. when the game kicks off.  Tickets for the game range from $6 to $15.

The Tucson Padres will also be collecting canned food during the Vamos a Tucson Mexican Baseball Fiesta for those impacted by the recent tropical storms in Mexico.   For every two items of food visitors bring they will receive a ticket to Sunday's game.
