    Last week Border Patrol agents seized more than $1 million in marijuana, as suspects attempted to smuggle it across the border into the U.S. In a recent release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents with the Ajo Station, stopped three suspected smuggling attempts on Sept. 11.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition after being found by firefighters in a smoke-filled home on Tucson's west side.

Firefighters from the Tucson Fire Department responded to the fire at 9:25 a.m. and found a vehicle burning in the carport of the home at North 15th Avenue and West Kelso Street, near West Glenn Street and North Oracle Road.

Firefighters found the man inside the house, which had filled with smoke. The vehicle and house were heavily damaged, but an estimate of the damages is yet to be determined.

A firefighter injured his hand while fighting the fire.

The cause and origin of the fire are still being investigated.
