Child struck by vehicle on Tucson's south side

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police is saying a 13 year old boy child stepped into traffic and was clipped by a vehicle this morning.

He has only suffered minor injuries. 

The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment of scrapes and bruises, this is according to Sgt. Chris Widmer with TPD. 

Tucson Police had responded to an earlier call of a child struck on the south side this morning.  According to TPD officials a child was struck by a car near Bilby and Del Moral.

Tucson Fire crews and TPD officers responded to the scene.

    The basketball team from Mountain View High School competed in last year's state games. Senior Raymond Brennan said it wasn't their wins that earned them an invitation. Their sportsmanship stood out among all the other teams.
