Standoff on Tucson's east side ends peacefully

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An eight-hour police standoff with a barricaded man on Tucson's east side ended peacefully when the man gave up.

Tucson Police and U.S. Marshals were in communication with the man in a home in the 5800 block of East Waverly Street since 8:30 a.m.

Police say the man faces multiple charges in connection with robberies in Pima County.

Police say the man was armed with a handgun.

Neighbors were asked to remain indoors throughout the standoff so as not to interfere with the situation.
