TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Governor Brewer congratulated the Sunnyside Softball Little League team at Mission Manor Park Wednesday as she also promoted Arizona Manufacturing Month.  She also said that the federal shutdown could hurt our state economy.

The Sunnyside Little League Softball team won the Little League Softball World Series.  Now, they have Governor Jan Brewer's approval.  They also gave her a game ball when she paid them a visit.

"We built up to this day, so, it didn't really hit us until the governor was coming to see us, and her support for the team until just right now.  So, I was real happy for the girls," said Sunnyside Little League Softball coach Rene Ayala.

The governor congratulated another team in southern Arizona.  As part of Arizona Manufacturing Month, she visited Universal Avionics and said that its more than 260 jobs are an important part of our economy.  She was also not hesitant to say that the federal shutdown puts progress at risk and the two sides in Washington need to come together.

"Bottomline is, that it's pretty clear the Obama Administration is not wanting to compromise one iota.  And, I will agree, that Congress does not want to compromise one iota.  Again, they need to come together, they have to understand it's their job to get it done.  There's going to have to be compromise or we will get nowhere," she said.
