Driver popped for pot on the turnpike

LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Troopers stopped a 2006 Pontiac Torrent with Michigan registration for a following too closely and marked lanes violations on the turnpike in Lorain County shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Trooper detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed five pounds of hydroponic marijuana concealed in a cardboard box, worth $22,650.

The driver, Franco F. Ayobe, 54, of Farmington, Mich., was arrested and charged with drug possession and trafficking in marijuana.
