By Lynda O'Hanlon

My eternal gratitude to the Tucson Police Department, the Negotiators, the SWAT team and the Marshall's office that all helped yesterday with the young man who was barricaded in the home off Pima and Craycroft. I am the mother of that young man. He broke the law and I do not condone his behavior, but the professionalism and compassion I experienced yesterday was an answer to a desperate mother's prayer. Thank you for your patience and your care while dealing with my son. I was in a mother's living nightmare and all teams working towards the safety of my young son was such a gift. I have always been grateful and supportive of our law enforcement agencies and our first responders, but my faith in your abilities is now ten-fold. Again, from the bottom of my heart - I cannot thank you enough for preserving the life of my son! God Bless You All.

The incident mentioned was an eight hour SWAT standoff that happened on Tuesday morning.
