Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College football team (3-4, 3-4 in conference) had a difficult time putting points on the board in its 10-7 loss against Eastern Arizona College on Saturday at Kino Stadium. This was its final regular season home game of the year.

Both teams struggled in the early going either punting or turning it over on downs for the first nine possessions of the game. Eastern Arizona scored with 45 seconds left in the second quarter to put them up 7-0.

On Pima's next possession, Tyler D'Amore (Ironwood Ridge HS) threw an interception to put Eastern in field goal range. The attempted 51-yard field goal fell right into the hands of Mikell Everette, who returned it 102 yards for the score as time expired to make it 7-7 at halftime and give the Aztecs some momentum. The Aztecs ran 22 plays in the first half.

Eastern took the lead for good in the third quarter after a successful 22-yard field goal. In its final possession of the game, the Aztecs got the ball with three minutes left. D'Amore completed passes for 20 and 21 yards to move the ball into Eastern's territory at the 43-yard-line but he fumbled on the next play, which Eastern recovered to seal it.

The Aztecs finished with 108 yards on the ground and 93 passing yards for the game.

Pima will close out the regular season next Saturday when they play at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM. The game will be at 2 p.m.
