CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Xavier University students carved nearly 500 pumpkins to represent children lost to abortion.

The Second Annual Pumpkin Memorial featured nearly 500 pumpkins carved with crosses. The students say that the pumpkins were lit in remembrance of the nearly 4,000 lives lost to abortion daily in the United States.

The lighting ceremony was preceded by food, drinks and music. The ceremony concluded with a prayer service led by a Xavier priest.
