A unique trade is made by two Arizona county sheriff's offices for new K-9s for one and new firearms for the other.

The Navajo County Sheriff's Office was wondering what to do with an unexpected and unplanned litter (the product of two of their police dogs), when the sheriff called the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) and wondered if they would like any of the pups.   YCSO has an outstanding K9 program and agreed quickly, asking what the cost was.  That was when the NCSO stated they needed new shotguns.
