Sierra Vista man dies in motorcycle crash

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A Sierra Vista man died after he lost control of his motorcycle while slowing near a police vehicle.

Officials said 29-year-old James K. Hardin was speeding Friday night when he saw a Sierra Vista Police car parked on Lenzer Avenue, near Joyce Clark Middle School.

He quickly applied his brakes, which reportedly caused him to lose control and crash his motorcycle.

Police said he skidded several feet along the roadway and was not wearing a helmet. He suffered severe head trauma and later died at the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center.
