The University of Notre Dame made a visit to the Queen City on Monday to celebrate Catholic education in inner-city schools.
As part of the school's ‘Fight for our Children's Future National Bus Tour', the University made a stop at Saint Joseph Catholic School, located on Ezzard Charles Road in Cincinnati's West End.
Saint Joseph's was honored as a school with an inspiring story of community engagement and inner-city educational excellence.
"It's true the catholic schools do tremendous work," said John Staud, a representative on the University of Notre Dame. "Studies show that they actually close the education gap in inner city schools. We like to focus on those schools. They are the most under resourced schools but also places where catholic schools do their best work."
Cincinnati is one of 50 stops on the bus tour.
