TPD investigating a shooting in midtown

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police are investigating a shooting in the 400 block of East Navajo.

A spokeswoman for the police department says a man called 911 around 12:48 Wednesday morning, saying he was involved in a shooting. He told 911 dispatchers that he shot another man. Police say several residents also called 911 around that time to report hearing gunshots.

Officers with the Operation Division West showed up on scene around 12:50 am. They found a man with an gunshot wound on the ground. He was pronounced dead on arrival. At this time, the location of his wound and the number of wounds is not known.

The man who called 911 is cooperating with police, and there is indication that the two men knew one another. According to TPD there is no word yet on what the charges could be.

TPD investigators are reporting they are finished with interviews for the moment and are currently working to collect evidence and process the crime scene.
