TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A man convicted for his part in six Tucson murders in 1996 was executed today at the Arizona State Prison Complex in Florence.

Robert Glen Jones Jr. was pronounced dead at 10:52 a.m., according to a news release from the state attorney general's office.

Jones, 43, and an accomplice were accused of killing two people at the Moon Smoke Shop on May 30, 1996, and four others at the Firefighters Union Hall social club 14 days later.

Jones is the second Arizona death-row inmate to be executed in two weeks.

Jones' accomplice, Scott Nordstrom, remains on death row.

Jones' execution came hours after the U.S. Supreme Court denied motions for a stay of execution and a rehearing of his case.
