The Department of Public Safety is searching for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist in critical condition.

Authorities said a 2005-2007 dark green Jeep Liberty hit a bicyclist in a crosswalk on Oct. 24, just after 7 a.m. The driver was approaching the Interstate 19 southbound onramp while traveling east on Ajo Way when the incident occurred.

Witnesses said the Jeep had damage to the front of the vehicle and lost the grill in the crash.

The bicyclist was taken to the University of Arizona Medical Center.
