Search is on for vehicle involved in Thursday hit & run

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's help in locating a car involved in a hit and run on Thursday morning.

A bicyclist was hit in a crosswalk near Ajo and I-19, he is currently listed as critical at UAMC.

AZ DPS are searching for a 2005 to 2007 dark green Jeep Liberty (similar to the one pictured).  Tucson News Now has been told the front end of the vehicle had lost its grill after the collision.

According to AZ DPS the Jeep Liberty was seen fleeing the scene by witnesses, heading southbound on I-19. 

Those with information on the Jeep Liberty are asked to call 911 or DPS at (520) 746-4500.
